Editorial story: the prompt that stayed on the machine
A clearly labelled FreeStack composite shows how one fictional summary task became easier to evaluate after the prompt, data boundary and upgrade trigger were written down.
A FreeStack editorial composite created as a learning resource. It is not a member story, testimonial, customer result or report of hands-on tool testing.
This is a FreeStack editorial example
The maker, product note and decision are a fictional composite created to explain a planning choice. There is no invented member, conversation, testimonial, usage metric, benchmark or customer result. The desired output is deliberately small: a 60-word internal summary of a fictional note, with the prompt and review evidence kept on one Windows machine.
The first shopping list was a subscription
The initial wish list included a premium model, research, team sharing, unlimited context and automatic publishing. None was required to learn whether a small local model could preserve three named facts and avoid an unsupported claim. Writing the prompt card in VS Code separated the actual job from the attractive bundle.
The model card made the cost visible
The fictional reviewer recorded the model ID, quantisation, context choice, memory estimate and licence before downloading. That note kept hardware, disk space and model rights in the decision. The MIT app licence did not become a claim that every compatible model or output was cleared for commercial use.
Three drafts replaced one lucky answer
The same harmless prompt was run three times and the text files were compared against written checks. Differences were noted without inventing a speed score or quality percentage. A human still reviewed factual support, wording and suitability; local execution did not make the answers true.
The upgrade trigger became concrete
The fictional workflow stayed local while one person could review short internal drafts. Payment would become reasonable only for an approved hosted model, web-grounded research, managed team access, larger context, governed retention or compute unavailable on the device. The decision remained attached to the prompt pack rather than to a generic fear of missing out.
Save the toolkit and adapt the boundary
The linked starter stack is a learning kit, not a tested AI environment. Use fictional text first, record versions and model rights, keep confidential work out of unapproved tools and add an independent backup if the files matter. The existing Save this toolkit flow stores only catalogue links in a private stack.
