Inside Enhanced for Todoist: intentions before dates

A recent Product Hunt discovery shows how an independent front end can distinguish weekly intent, capacity and the underlying account.

01

A recent discovery with a modest public signal

The 6 November daily archive includes Enhanced for Todoist. Its live product page showed #25 and 84 points on 7 November. The page also displayed Launching today; FreeStack records the archive date rather than asserting an independently established first-release date. No usage or customer-success claim follows from this signal.

02

The confirmed implementation

Current maintainer source identifies React 18, TypeScript and Vite. The dependency manifest confirms Zustand, idb, dnd-kit and date-fns, with a PWA plugin in the build. The documented output is a static browser application. These are source-confirmed components, not a claim about every deployed service or the underlying Todoist infrastructure.

03

Planning data stays in an existing system

The maintainer documents Todoist projects, labels and dates as the representation for planning choices. The app is independent and unaffiliated with Todoist. This preserves an important product boundary: a different interface need not imply a different system of record. That is a documented design, not an independently tested guarantee of synchronization or security.

04

Free code does not expand the connected plan

The repository is MIT-licensed. Todoist remains a separate account and plan. Its $0 Beginner tier lists five personal projects, three filters and one week of history; paid duration, calendar and reporting capabilities must not be inferred from the front end’s licence. Self-hosting needs configuration and maintenance. This study has not connected an account, inspected token storage at runtime or performed a security audit.

05

Editorial lesson: practise the decision first

The linked FreeStack guide uses Todoist, LibreOffice and VS Code to separate genuine dates, weekly intentions and estimates. That is an editorial learning toolkit, not Enhanced’s production stack. Save the tools, try the smaller fictional exercise, then consider an additional service only when a named review, capacity or integration requirement remains.
